Visionary Artworks

Over the past month TroyBlum and I have been working on artworks that could be classified as visionary or "imaginary". They pertain to memories, dreams, the realm of the senses, abstract ideas, and imagined worlds. Here are some stages of a painting I'm doing about the ocean at night and its pungent mystical spell.

And this is one about children and their nocturnal games

Hello Matt, Alberto here.
I am fascinated by the appeareance of a Chambered Nautilus in your ocean paintings, I have recently been having revelatory thoughts about the nature of the Nautilus and I will love to discuss this with you upon my return to Pittsburgh. Maybe I can try and relate some of it meanwhile:
I had been playing with a concept that has begun to bloom in my mind and IT is difficult to describe, so I begun receiving metaphorical pieces to be able to relate it by using somewhat common words which would describe some of its attributes. Among the key terms I was summoning (because I was asking for these to appear to me in various forms) were: WATER-ANIMAL, BELL(more specifically "escafandra" which are the ancient devices shaped like an upside down fish bowl used as air vessels for underwater exploration), SHIP, CLEPSYDRA and VESSEL.
There was another key which was the phrase: ENERGETIC VOLUME THAT EMOTES MATTER
And so in a flash moment of clarity I realized almost by accident that the NAUTILUS was a single metaphoric entity that encompassed all of these key terms and I recalled, in addition, that the Nautilus posseses a SIPHUNCLE, a spiral tube connecting all the chambers which enables it to change the volume of air within it, in order to navigate. "A Living Clepsydra/Escafandra Ship Vessel"!
So the Nautilus for me now acts as a sort of Metasymbol and I am fascinated at the additional meanings I can derive from your recent visions and most curious about your ideas regarding these images. Also, I am currently somewhat obsessed on a very mysterious Pre-Incaic object called KATANKURA and I recently aquired one. I am not sure how this relates, but that's how obsessions are, hahaha!
A couple of days ago I finished a mural painting of sorts (its more like a cave painting) called "The Hunt of the Oniric Man" I tried to post an image here but I couldnt. I will send it to you right now. Make sure you zoom into it to see the details!
I look forward to talking to you.
Best regards,
Alberto
